Happiness

It is so quiet  in here, I decided to update, just to make sure no one thinks there is anything wrong. Actually it is the exact contrary. We moved to a bigger appartment in December, and in other big, happy news we are expecting a baby boy in August! We are very excited and busy. I'm writing my masters thesis, though it's not going to get done before I take my maternity leave, but that's ok :-)
Hope you are doing great!

Butterflies and other priorities

I'm not blogging here in the moment, because I'm in the middle of my fieldwork. I'm doing research in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm enjoying it and keeping busy. If you are interested in the research, or you're maybe a member og the church yourself, you can read about it in Danish here or in English here. In a little more than a week I'm going to Salt Lake City, Utah, and I'll be blogging a bit in Danish from this place, about all the "fun" and not professional stuff.
See you later :-)

We went and got married

August 15th, 2004 I met Jakob for the first time. We became best friends and spend a lot of time together before we became a couple.

The day before last, the 15th of August 2012 I became his wife. We got married at our local church by a teacher and friend from the school where we met, he is now a priest in our church. No one knew and it was just us. It was a very special experience and just the right way for us to get married.

We drove around town yesterday and broke the news to friends and family, whom were chocked but happy

Jeg elsker dig Jakob

Before and After my work desk

I spend some of the last days of my vacation painting the desk I use when I work. I found the desk on the street outside of our house as a magical gift from the universe. I has just decided that I wanted a workspace in that exact spot and measured for a table. We planned an Ikea trip, even though they didn't have anything in those measures according to their website. But then we saw this table outside our house. Thank you universe. It was perfect. I actually liked the wood too, some of it, it wasn't all the same, and the "main part" was unpractical, it got stained really fast if I just put a glass of water on it, and one day I had a post-it rub off on it. Not pretty. So I got Jakob to help me make it pretty and white :-)

The old Malt Factory

When we went camping we also went to explore the nearest city, Ebeltoft. It's a very cute little city. It has an old malt factory, which is amazing, but sadly not very well maintained. I could really see some great uses for it, but I guess no one has had the courage, or the money to do anything about it. You can read a little about the factory here (in Danish).

The Beach

I love the beach, I've actually never lived very far from the water. My whole childhood I've only been a walk away from the harbor, and a bike ride from the beach. I swam and I rowed in a club for some years. In Copenhagen there was a bit longer, but I still saw the ocean every day on my way to school. Here in Aarhus the ocean seems very near as well, which I'm very grateful for. The pictures are from our campingtrip.

The Water was crystal clear. Perfect for snorkeling, except for the low temperature.
Some cute kids on the beach found these little creatures in the water. The last one is called a "sønål" in Danish, and it looks like a miniature seahorse stretched out.

My dream car for camping

Our neighbor on the campsite was a nice guy from the Netherlands with this dreamy mint green car, which also got a great spot right beside the waterfront. This car is on the top of my wishlist of cars!

Beautiful Summer-Denmark

Here are some pictures of the beautiful surroundings. We stayed here. I can definitely recommend the spot. We were so lucky with the weather, which has been so wet and dark, except for the days we went camping. And look at the clear water! I brought my snorkeling gear as well, and it was fun, even though the water temperature was a bit too low. We also got to see a flock of porpoises the last day, while we were eating our breakfast.

Fly away

We just returned from a few days of camping with Jakob's family. It it the most amazing camping spot just by the sea, I have a lot of photos to show you. But first I'll share pictures of this guy who flew over our camp site, he had a small engine strapped to his back and a parachute. I understand why he would like to see the scenery from the sky, but I prefer to stay on the ground.
